I work for the met office as a forecaster, based near high wycombe,
and my job involves forecasting for the military in the UK or further
afield its an interesting job at times, but like all work it gets
in the way of life
we work shifts and have a shift pattern that see's us work a combination
of days and nights usually one day and 2 nights, or 2 days and 1
night, i've worked like this more or less since I left school in
1979
the job is varried and can be either very busy or very quiet. I
have worked in quite a number of different places from wick in caithness,
to laarbruch west germany, i was a weather observer from 1979 to
1991 when I became a forecaster. I have worked at our headquarters
which used to be in bracknell but has now moved to exeter
